One of the largest photography trade shows is getting underway in Las Vegas. Most of the major companies are there, Kodak, Sony, Nikon, FujiFilm and a relative newcomer to digital Photography, GE. To date, GE hasn’t exactly wowed us with image quality but 9 new models may improve GE’s standing.
The Nikon CoolPix 5100 is a compact digital camera designed for photography enthusiast who needs a reliable point-and-shoot camera that is packed with features almost comparable to today’s Digital SLR cameras.
The new V-series cameras from Kodak are certainly stylish and come in at an attractive price but that does not make up for the lackluster performance of the new cameras.
Those of you that have a digital SLR camera might think you have something to be proud of, but, whatever model it is you have, it has nothing on the new Hasselblad H3D with a choice of either a 22, 31 or 39 megapixel image sensor.
Pentax has announced two new digital cameras belonging to its Optio series. The new cameras will feature increased megapixels and one offers longer zooms however, as seen with the GE E850 things may appear better on paper.
I recently got the chance to review GE’s new E850 digital camera. You may remember that I wrote about this camera in the past but that was before I got to take a firsthand look at it. My impression of the camera is not that good and it has a few quirks that might bother some users.
Most cameras include a feature called “stitch” mode which will allow you to compose panoramic shots of sorts but Sony’s new prototype takes the guesswork out and is fully automatic, all you need is a flat surface.
It’s no secret that the current digicam offerings from Samsung serve up lots of noise in any image but that may be about to change. Currently the cameras are very stylish and that tradition continues, what hopefully will not continue is the image noise.
