GE announces 9 new cameras at PMA 2008

One of the largest photography trade shows is getting underway in Las Vegas. Most of the major companies are there, Kodak, Sony, Nikon, FujiFilm and a relative newcomer to digital Photography, GE. To date, GE hasn’t exactly wowed us with image quality but 9 new models may improve GE’s standing.

If you are in the market for a digital camera with a long zoom and image stabalization for under $300, then the Kodak EasyShare Z812IS may be just what you are looking for.
This was probably a long time in coming. HP no longer wants to handle its camera business and is seeking a third party to make and distribute digital cameras under the HP brand.
It seems that no camera is immutable and now Canon is under the spotlight because of a “light leak” problem that has affected some of its PowerShot A650IS digital cameras.
The Samsung L77 has been making the review circuit and overall it’s not a bad camera but it’s not a very good one either. It is a pocketable camera that has a long zoom and slim body but that’s about all it has going for it.
The new V-series cameras from Kodak are certainly stylish and come in at an attractive price but that does not make up for the lackluster performance of the new cameras.
