Here are ways to dress up your Android photos
There are times when carrying around a lot of photo equipment is neither appropriate or convenient. During those times, you can still use your Android phone to take and create some amazing photographs and effects.
You can find an amazing number of photo apps that turn your camera into something more. While some of these applications take up a considerable amount of room, the following photo applications will still leave you plenty of room for other apps while still giving you fun ways to play with your pictures.
For instance with FxCamera, you can take pictures with a wide variety of effects like: ToyCam, Polandroid, Warhol, Fisheye, Symmetricam, and the ever popular, normal. For a free app it offers a lot of variety. For those who care about ratings, this one got a 4.4. The amount of space required is only 1.5M.
Another free app that won’t hog a lot of space is Little Photo. It provides a number of different effects for your pictures. Take your picture and then you can play with the texture, focus, and frame of the shot using 50 different effects that can be combined to create amazing shots. It only takes 1M of space. Little Photo earned a 4.5 rating.
Another app that gives you more room to play by allowing you to :
Sharpen, remove red eye, crop & straighten, distort, insert cutouts of other pictures, paint, make color splash out of black-and-white pictures, add text, word balloons, apply effects like Cross Process, Lomo, Vignette, faux HDR, Tilt-shift, Pencil Sketch, and much more.
PicSay comes in free and pay ($4.28) versions. Needless to say the paid version provides a lot more tools to play with than the free one. For the amount of tools and effects that you get with this app, it is amazingly small – just 933k and 1M for the free and the pay. the free version has a rating of 4.5 and the pay version, 4.8.
Another paid app that is almost free ($.99) is ColorUp. You can have part of your photo black and white or colored. It has an on screen tool bar and you can zoom in to make sure you only color the portion you want to color. Only takes up 593k and got a 4.4 rating.
This is but a small sample of photo applications for your Android phone. There are plenty of other ones out there. I limited my selection to apps that were below 2M and had a rating of at least 4.4. Many other exist but require more space and I’m not talking just a few more megabytes, I’m talking 3.3M – 12M and up.
