Panasonic Lumix FX700 Does Away With Most Physical Buttons

Panasonic Lumix FX700 Does Away With Most Physical ButtonsPeople are getting more and more comfortable with touchscreens as they are popping up on every cell phone and other devices, so I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised that they are now taking over point and shoot cameras also.

The new Panasonic Lumix FX700 isn’t the first device to go the route of eliminating all the rear buttons in favor of a larger capacitive screen, but it sure is a bit jarring to see such a clean back on camera.

All of the cool tech geekery aside, how does it work as a camera?  It features a 5X optical zoom, along with the supposed 14.1 megapixels that point-and-shoot cameras are now claiming to have.  It is also capable of shooting 1080P video in the AVCHD format.

“The 24mm ultra wide-angle lens and 5x optical zoom on the LUMIX FX700 makes it a powerful and advanced addition to the FX-Series, known for being slim, sleek and high-performing,” said David Briganti, Senior Product Manager, Imaging, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. “The LUMIX FX700 offers a complete suite of creative ways to capture superior quality photos and full HD videos in all shooting situations.”
