Sanyo unveils 14 megapixel VPC-E1403
Sanyo has decided to up the war in the nearly meaningless megapixel war between point-and-shoot cameras with its new VPC-E1403.
Continuing to pray on unwitting consumers, the manufacturers of point-and-shoot cameras are constantly upping the “megapixels” on their units, and the new Sanyo VPC-E1403 continues this trend by boldly announcing it shoots still images at 14 megapixels.
Even with the megapixels out of the way, this still sounds like a solid camera. Â It measures a mere 99 x 56.8 x 18.8 mm and weights a mere 105 grams without its battery. Â It features a 3X optical zoom and uses SD or SDHC cards for storage. Â It is also capable of shooting HD video up to 720p at 30 frames per second.
It is on sale in Europe now for €129 ($157 USD), but no mention of a U.S. release date as of yet.
