Sanyo announces Xacti CG100 & GH1
Sanyo has announced two new additions to its Xacti HD video camera line that are capable of shooting full HD videos and 14 megapixel still images.
The DMX-CG100 will be a gun-style with a flip out view screen that comes out of the handle and will be available in red, white or blue choices. The DMX-GH1 will have a more traditional form factor and come in silver, pink and blue options.
Both of the new camera models will shoot the videos in MPEG-4 AVC / H.264.
The new models are equipped with SANYO’s proprietary “Double Range Zoom†feature for zoom operation while filming video. With a touch of the Zoom Range Button, this technology allows users to effectively switch between two zoom ranges, a Wide Mode (40 mm to 240 mm) and a Tele Mode (80 mm to 480 mm), which changes the size of the video capture area on the image sensor. As a result, the new models offer an extensive range of video capture from wide angle to telephoto zoom for distant scenery, with a magnification of up to 12x (40 mm to 480 mm; 35-mm film basis).
Some of the other included features for both models are:
- Digital Image Stabilizer†and “Face Chaser Functionâ€Â for videos
- “The new Digital Image Stabilizer,â€Â “Face Chaser Functionâ€, “Target a Color Functionâ€Â for photos
- “Reverse Sequential Shot Function†to prevent the missing of photo opportunities
- “Mini HDMI Terminalâ€Â for the enjoyment of even more beautiful Full HD resolution
- “Eye-Fi card compatibilityâ€Â enables automatic uploading of images to a computer
- Compatible with large-capacity recording media, SDXC memory cards
The only difference between these models is totally in the form factor, and what is more comfortable to you as a user. Â Both units go on sale April 16.
