New photography news site Focal Point Daily launches
Tracking down all of the latest news in photography and digital imaging can be a tough task, hoping from site to site, but now there is a central hub where you can find all of the latest information in just one glance.
Focal Point Daily is a new aggregation site that harvests the latest in photography-related stories from across the Internet in the categories of News, Ideas, Reviews and Tools, Tips & Technology. Â In addition to the Web site, an app for iPhones and iPod Touches is expected to release within the next two months.
The site has been founded by Graham McLaren, a Bristol based lecturer and photography enthusiast who recognised the need for a reliable site that linked photographers to high quality Web resources. A member of the Royal Photographic Society, Graham has been an active photographer since his late teens. He specialises in landscape photography, with a particular interest in producing black and white toned prints that concentrate upon Mankind’s impact on the environment. Graham says:
The Web is a vast resource for photographers. We are living through a very exciting time for all those interested in imaging as technology brings new possibilities and new ways of thinking about the photographic image to us. The problem for photographers is sorting the wheat from the chaff of web resources in order to make the most of the Internet as a source of information about these developments. FocalPoint Daily aims to help them by providing a constantly updated review of the best and the brightest material being made available in this area.
