Canon announces the Rebel T2i
Canon has released the official specs of its new Rebel T2i, known as the EOS 550D in Europe, and it promises a heck of a punch for the price.
Being released both just as a body package and a body with lens package, the new Rebel T2i is a consumer-grade DSLR (digital single-lens reflex camera) that will be sporting 18.7MP (megapixels) CMOS. Besides taking huge photos, the Rebel T2i will also record videos in full 1920×1080p HD resolution, allowing photographers to select the frame rate preferred from 30, 25 and 24fps, as well as offering 720p video at 60 and 50fps.
In a first for entry level EOS, exposure compensation and bracketing can be set up to plus or minus five and two stops respectively, allowing the photographer to take a number of differently exposed versions of the same shot to ensure they capture a well-exposed image, even in difficult lighting conditions.
The body alone will cost you $799 in the USA, and the body with an EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens will be $899.
