Casio introduces the strudy EX-G1
Casio has introduced a new point and shoot camera named the EX-G1 that can withstand just about any wear and tear you throw at it.
The new EX-G1 from Casio is being touted as the world’s thinnest camera that is not only shock-resistant to falls of seven feet, but is also water-resistant in depths of up to 10 feet, works in temperatures down to 14°F and has a dust-resistant sensor.  In short, it’s probably the perfect camera solution for a teenager.
The EX-G1 shoots at 12.1 megapixels, has interval shooting and multi-image capture, has a 3x zoom lens and a 2.5″ LCD screen on the backside.
The camera will release this December with a suggested retail price of $299.99. Â While it is certainly not a solution for serious photographers, it does sound like a great first camera for the younger members of a family who may not yet be used to handling expensive gadgets.
