Fujifilm launches FinePix Real 3D System in the USA
Fujifilm has finally announced the release of its new FinePix Real 3D system in the United States.
The Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D system was first announced back in July, but the details were still somewhat sketchy at that time except for the most basic concepts of how the technology would work. For those that aren’t familiar with the new technology, the new FinePix REAL 3D W1 camera actually boasts two lenses that allow you to shoot 3D images at up to 3x optical zoom, something that was impossible with previous with 3D cameras.
One of the biggest missing pieces about the camera was how much it would cost, but the previous guess of $600 turned out to be pretty accurate as the suggested retail price ended up being $599.95. The REAL 3D V1 Digital Viewer, which is necessary to view the images off of the display on the camera, will retail for $499.95. Prints will need to be done SeeHere.com, Fujifilm’s photo printing, gifting and sharing Web site, due to the complexity of the printing process. Prints will cost $6.99 each and take up to 15 days for delivery.

I like the move made by Fujifilm to address the issues at the beginning but I don’t think that this is going to be an industry-wide trend for other manufacturers.
