FolioLink adds scaling photo capabilities to photographer portfolios

If you’re a photographer who stresses about what size image to place on your portfolio site, FolioLink has the solution for you.
FolioLink, an online portfolio service for photographers, has announced that it has added photo scaling to the latest release of its FLASH sites. This new service, which is available immediately, will finally remove the headache of picking just the right size for your image so that it will work on all screen resolutions.
The new service allows you to upload images that are far bigger than normal, optimized the way you want, and FolioLink will handle all of the scaling problems. The service is said to be able to handle reproducing the images on the iPhone, laptops and up to the largest desktop monitors without any hassles.
“I spend a lot of time making sure my images are fully detailed and meet the quality of my clients and editors,” said professional photographer Joel Grimes. He went on to say, “FolioLink’s new scaling feature helps me showcase my images bigger and I don’t have to worry that someone with a small screen would not see them. The fact that I can upload huge optimized images that fit virtually on any monitor is fantastic!”
I visited Mr. Grimes site both with my 22-inch desktop monitor and on my iPod Touch, and I have to say the amount of detail in both images was pretty similar. The only drawback to the iPod version that I could find was that it would not let me use the double-tap command to enlarge any of the images, but even in their smaller size they were quite impressively displayed.
FolioLink is of course a subscription-based service, and prices range from $239 a year up to $695.
