Panasonic announces the DMC-FS62, FS42, and FS12 consumer cameras
Panasonic has announced the addition of three new consumer digital cameras to its Lumix line. The Panasonic DMC-FS62, DMC-FS42, and DMC FS12 all come with features that are sure to please even the most discerning of consumers.
Panasonic DMC-FS12
The Panasonic DMC-FS12 is the high-end amongst the three announced cameras. The camera takes pictures at a 12.1-megapixel resolution, has a 2.7-inch LCD screen, and a 4x optical zoom. The camera can record videos at a resolution of 848 x 480 and has face detection, an intelligent scene selection for helping you get your camera at the right settings for a particular lighting situation, and digital red-eye correction. The camera will be available in silver, black, blue, pink, and green.
Panasonic DMC-FS62
The Panasonic DMC-FS62 is a 10.1-megapixel camera with a 2.5-inch LCD screen. The camera has a 4x optical zoom, and offers users the ability to record video at resolutions up to 848 x 480. The camera sports face detection for making sure all your subjects faces get priority in pictures and look their best, red eye correction, and an Intelligent Scene Selector that helps you determine the appropriate scene selection for a particular situation you’re in. The camera will be available in silver, black, red, blue, and pink.
Panasonic DMC-FS42
The Panasonic DMC-FS42 is roughly the exact same camera as the FS62 without the red eye reduction. The camera takes pictures at a 10.1-megapixel resolution, has a 2.5-inch LCD, face detection, intelligent scene selection, and a 4x optical zoom. The camera will be available in silver, black, and pink.
All three cameras also come with some pretty basic photo editing software as well as PHOTOfunSTUDIO photo organizing software which has face recognition bundled in. No word yet on pricing or availability for any of the three models.
