Samsung announced this morning two new standard definition camcorders the Samsung SMX-C14, and Samsung SMX-C10. Both camcorders feature Samsung’s “Touch of Color” finish that was introduced on this years flat-panel HDTV’s. The finish blends a hint of a color into a deep black finish to give the device an “attractive crystalline appearance.

Recently Cisco purchased the company Pure Digital, maker of the popular Flip series of camcorders, for a pretty sizable pile of cash. Now the company is releasing its very first camcorder since the buyout, the Flip Ultra HD. The high-definition camcorder lets you easily record high-resolution videos and upload them to the Web, all for under $200.

There have been quite a few DSLRs released over the past year or so that are capable of shooting video. While the video recording capability is obviously welcome, I’ve never really though people would bust out their DSLR when they were looking to do some serious videography. Apparently the folks at Redrock think a little differently, and have released a new cinema rig for the DSLR that makes it easy for photographers to use their cameras to shoot some professional looking video – or at least look like they’re shooting some professional videos.

If you’re looking to start your own production company, or just looking to get a little more serious with your home videos, Panasonic has just announced a new camcorder that may be right up your alley. The Panasonic AG-HMC40 blurs the line between professional camcorders and consumer models, and offers quite the punch for a reasonable $3,200 price tag.

Panasonic has announced the addition of three new consumer digital cameras to its Lumix line. The Panasonic DMC-FS62, DMC-FS42, and DMC FS12 all come with features that are sure to please even the most discerning of consumers.

After months of rumors, leaked pictures, and photographer’s dreams, Nikon has officially announced the Nikon D5000. The 12.3-megapixel DSLR is capable of shooting 720p high definition video clips at 24fps, and has a vari-angle LCD monitor that can be rotated, swiveled out, and adjusted to meet the needs of a particular shot.

What is it with white cameras? Leica has decided to jump on the white camera bandwagon and offer a new white version of the Leica M8. Besides being white, the camera won’t offer any new or different specs than the original model, which begs the question – why release a color version in the first place?
