As a hard disk replacement... thats all i would ever use it for... if it wasn't said to hold up i would never switch. For backup i would say no way. . . i mean, is SO small and easy to lose. Id rather get the 2tb 10 pound box to backup stuff on for prolly 1/3 of the price.

However, if kept in my comp at all times, that would be fine. So i could see myself maybe paying 150 bucks tops for it, and not a dime at all if I caught any info of them blanking out or becoming unusable after a while.

I would also get it for a camera. Why have 4 or 5 small cards and not know what pics and vids are on what card when you can pitch out some extra dough and lose the hassle of loading 5 cards to find what you want ENTIRELY. One of the reasons I dont use my camera is because im always switching cards to show my friends all my shots. Its gotten to the point where I just say, "ask me later when I have them all on my computer."

On a side note, its cool to hear this... in 15 years you never know... this news may be so old that 2TB cards are almost the standard, maybe even one day we will get to see deals like "buy this camera and get a 2TB card for free" Wont that be the day? :)

James;
wouldnt using an sd as a hard disk replacement (especially for an os or backups that involve large files) get extremely hot like sd's usually do? which (correct if im wrong) would pretty much ruin it, 2TB is alot to lose

but a 2TB camcorder or phone wud be
great/insane :P and i wud suggest in the $100-$200 range wud be fair to me but the sdxc's would possibly follow in the SD/SDHC's footsteps and get cheaper as the bigger cards come out
