Fujifilm’s FinePix Z33WP: A waterproof camera designed to handle the elements
If you’re someone who like to take your digital camera with you underwater, or you wish you could — then the Fujifilm FinePix Z33WP is just the camera for you. Fujifilm announced the camera officially today, and we have to say we’re pretty impressed with it, at least from a waterproof standpoint.
The Z33WP takes pictures at a 10-megapixel resolution, and is designed to withstand water with a depth of up to 3 meter, for up to 2 hours before it starts having problems (and you would more than likely start having problems if you were underwater for 2 hours!). The camera has a 2.7-inch LCD screen, a 3x optical zoom, and is designed for people who want a camera to take out on the go and out in the elements.
The camera has picture stabilization that helps reduce camera shake, and face detection (a popular feature in this years cameras). The face detection can detect up to 10 faces in a single photograph and optimizes the focus and exposure in the shot for those faces rather than for items that might be in the background or foreground of the shot.
One other cool feature the camera is outfitted with is Scene Recognition AUTO. The scene detection mode detects what type of scene you’re shooting and automatically adjusts the camera’s settings to produce the perfect picture. Presets in the camera include nigh landscape, macro, portrait, night portrait, and backlight portrait.
If you tend to take pictures for your website or blog, the Z33WP has a special “blog mode” that is designed to re-size your images to a size that can be easily uploaded to your website, blog, or Facebook or MySpace page.
The Fujifilm Z33WP will be available in April of this year in Kiwi Green, Hawaiian Blue, Daredevil Black, Liquid Gold and Rock Chick Pink
