Fujifilm announces three new cameras
Fujifilm has added three new cameras to it’s lineup. The Fujifilm F200EXR, A150, and A100 digital cameras. The A150 and A100 are entry-level; consumer cameras, while the F200EXR is the first camera in Fujifilm’s lineup to use its new Super CCD EXR technology.
Here’s a rundown of what you can expect from each camera model:
F200EXR
The F200EXR has the ability to take pictures in three different shooting modes. The first is Fine Capture, which takes pictures at a 12-megapixel resolution. The next, Pixel Fusion Mode takes pictures at a 6-megapixel resolution and puts two different pixels together in order to lower noise levels and increase ISO, and finally Dual Capture takes two photographs at two different exposures and then combines the two together to form one 6-megapixel photograph.
The idea is that now that it has started to be easy to make high-megapixel cameras cheaply, now it’s time to improve the quality of those photos from a different standpoint.
The camera has face detection, what has almost become a standard in consumer cameras now-that can recognize up to ten people in one picture. The camera is expected to be released later this month for around $400.
A150 and A100
The A150 is for the budget camera shopper. Priced at just $130, the camera has a 10-megapixel resolution; 3x optical zoom, 3-inch LCD screen, and have face detection for up to six people at a time. The A100 is a similar camera, except it only has a 2.7-inch LCD screen.
It’s pretty impressive how much the prices have dropped on consumer cameras over the past few years. I can remember when a 10-megapixel camera would cost you close to $1000, and now you can pick one up for a little over $100. The price drop definitely makes buying a decent quality, or at least a decent resolution camera within the reach of quite a few more consumers.
