Lego camera should not be dismantled

Lego camera should not be dismantledLego has got together with Digital Blue to bring out Lego-branded kid’s tech products of which one is a video camera and another is a walkie talkie. There will be lots more.

Important we make the point early on that although these LOOK like Lego you cannot take them apart. Because that is what kids do. Take them apart.

With a digital camera this is not a good thing. But it is London to a brick some little monsters will give it the a good try and then ask their parents to put them back together again.

There is, as yet, no offical word on the products but the joint release seems to indicate a price from $20 to $60 which is a bit high for something which, in this writer’s opinion, will last half a dog watch until they are prised apart to see how the work.

We are told they are geared to pre-teens (7- to 11-year-olds) and that the Bionicle digital camera (pictured) will be stocked at Toys R Us this fall or, as they say in other places, autumn. This news from Gizmodo. Personally, I think they should gear it more to the 4- to 6-year-old crowd. All the pre-teens I know want real digital cameras.
