Canon EOS 50D gets reviewed
The Canon EOS 50D is one the newest SLR’s on the market from Canon. The 15-megapixel camera has a 3.0-inch VGA screen, Canon’s updated DIGIC 4 image processor, and a redesigned sensor. Sounds great, right? So how did the 50D stand up in reviews? Here is what some of the top photography site thought of the 50D.
Digital Photography Review
DP review thought the 50D has a clean image output (although not as clean as they had hoped) and overall thought the camera performed well earning it a “Highly Recommended” rating from the site. Some downsides of the camera in their opinion include the cameras performance at a high ISO, and the Live View were both not as good as its predecessor the canon 40D.

CNET said about the camera “Though the 50D isn’t the successor to the 40D, it offers numerous improvements that may be worth the upgrade–or the outright new purchase–depending on your priorities. After having experienced the quality and depth of color in the new LCD screen it will be very difficult to go back to the 40D and to other comparable models in its class.” Overall they gave the camera an 8 out of 10, citing the cameras excellent image quality, HDMI output, and new LCD screen as it’s positive attributes while counting off for having no live view in the automatic mode.

DCI said the “50D didn’t blow us away in any of our tests, instead maintaining a universally average result. The 50D showed itself to be a solid, incremental upgrade in the mid-level Canon cameras.” They suggested the camera might be a good fit for “manual Control freaks” and “Pro/Serious Hobbyists” but recommended that point-and-shooters, and budget consumers steer away from the camera.

I have the cannon 40D to shoot weddings on the beach in a very humid and hot conditions, the 40D has held up really great, looking forward to the new 50D with more megapix
