Picnik: The perfect online editor for resizing photos
Picnik is an online photo editor that has basic photo editing functionality as well as a few advanced features that make it stand out from the competition. The Photo editor is available to use for free on the web with no type of download required, with an inexpensive paid version available as well.
Pull photos from other sites:
Picnik accepts photographs from MySpace, Flickr, Facebook, Photobucket, Picasa, Webshots and Freewebs, as well as your computer.
Photo resizing:
The photo resizer on Picnik is what really has me coming back for more. I actually use Picnik to edit all the photographs I use in this blog. Unlike most online photo editors, Picnik lets you input the exact pixels you want each picture to be, making it easy to fit into a site design, if your editing for the web, or create the perfect sized picture for your web site or newsletter. You can also crop pictures by pixel, which is helpful for the same reasons-when you’re trying to get a picture to fit perfectly where you want it to.
Other editing features:
Picnik allows you to rotate your pictures in different directions, adjust the exposure, sharpen and adjust colors, and remove red-eye.
Creative Special Features:
Like most photo editors, Picnik has those features that allow you to filter your pictures to make them look a little different. Options within Picnik include Puzzle, Zombify, and Blood Stains, in addition to the traditional Sepia, Black and White, and Matte options, you see everywhere else. It also offers the ability to add a variety of shapes and text to your photos, if you’re into that sort of thing, touch up blemishes and whiten the teeth of people in your photos.
Sharing Options:
Photos you edit on the site can be saved to your computer (and you can adjust the size), they can also be printed out, sent to a Flickr slideshow, emailed to a website or uploaded to Facebook, MySpace, Photobucket, Freewebs and Webshots.
