AKVIS Sketch available for Windows
AKVIS Sketch is now available for Windows users. The program allows you to turn your photographs into pencil sketches or watercolor drawings that the company says look more realistic than those created with other photo editing programs and plug-ins.
Options within the program allow you to create color and black and white drawings that “imitate the technique of graphite, colored pencil, charcoal, and watercolor paintings.
Adjustments are made to the photos via sliders, enabling adjustments to be made simply and easily without having to fiddle with a lot of controls. You can switch between pencil, charcoal, and watercolor, and can make the hatching denser or finer in the drawings as well as change the angle of brush strokes.
From the company’s press release: “Home users will be delighted by the neat result of the photo-to-sketch conversion. AKVIS Sketch can bring a lot of fun: a pencil portrait can be a good present for your relatives and friends, a watercolor drawing obtained from your last nature shooting can decorate your room, you can convert any photo to an original drawing to print on a T-Shirt. The program can be helpful to designers who need to quickly bring images to one style for a web-site or an advertisement booklet. On the whole it’s a wonderful tool for those who have always wanted to draw but didn’t know how.”
A plug-in version of AKVIS Sketch is available for Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, and Paint Shop Pro.
AKVIS Sketch is also available as a standalone program for both Mac and Windows computers.
There is a 10-day trial version of the program available for people who may want to try the program without making a commitment to it. After the 10-day evaluation period users will have to enter a registration key in order to continue to use the program.
