The Canon EOS 50D is one the newest SLR’s on the market from Canon. The 15-megapixel camera has a 3.0-inch VGA screen, Canon’s updated DIGIC 4 image processor, and a redesigned sensor. Remember back in the old days when you used to cut up pictures and create scrapbooks of your trip to summer camp or the family vacation to Disney World? Now that most of us keep our pictures digitally rather than as prints, scrapbooking has become a slightly less popular hobby, or at least a slightly more difficult one. Scrapblog is a site designed to change that and get you back to scapbooking, but in a digital way. Finished books can be shared on the web, emailed to friends, and purchased as a printed version.

A lot of SLRs have recently gotten firmware updates that fix some of the issues the cameras had. Updates have come this week for Olympus, Canon, and Nikon. If you have one of these cameras update it soon to get the best performance from your shooter as possible.

Microsoft Live Labs has released Photosynth, a program designed to take regular digital photographs and turn them into a three-dimensional, 360-degree experience. Created from a collaboration between Microsoft and the University of Washington, the site is available to use now.

Apple has released an update to their popular photo editing software Aperture. Aperture 2.1.2 is a minor update to the software which improves the printing quality of cards, calendars, and books ordered through the Aperture printing service.

Mamiya has announced a new medium format digital camera system. The Mamiya DL28 Digital camera system shoots pictures at a resolution of 28-megapixels and offers a variety of professional features previously only found in more expensive digital cameras.
