Since the beginning of photography, people have been scribbling notes on the back of photos revealing things like where the photo was taken, when, who’s in the photo and more- it’s especially useful on older photos you might not remember. A problem in today’s digital world is that photos taken with digital cameras and cell phones lack this vital information. Nokia wants to change all that.

Casio has launched its new EXILM EX-FH20 high-speed digital camera. The camera takes photographs at a 9.1 megapixel resolution, has a burst rate up to 40fps, and can shoot movies at an astounding 1000fps.

SanDisk has announced a new 32GB SanDisk Extreme CompactFlash Card. The card is the newest addition to SanDisk’s “SanDisk Extreme III†line of flash cards and combines fast data transfer rates with a large storage capacity.

Panasonic has announced the 12.1 megapixel Lumix G1. The digital SLR is the first camera by Panasonic to use their Micro Four Thirds format.

Sony has announced a new SLR addition to its digital camera lineup, the DSLR-A900. The high-end camera takes photographs at a 24.6-megapixel resolution, and is a full-frame camera meaning its sensor is the same size as a 35mm film frame.

Nik Software has announced the third version of Sharpener Pro, a plug-in for Adobe Photoshop and Apple Aperture. The plug-in uses Nik Software’s “U Point technology†which gives users the ability to selectively sharpen objects within their photographs.

Sony has unveiled the VAIO CP1 Wi-Fi photo frame. The frame allows users to stream pictures in real-time from their PC directly to the photo frame allowing them to easily share their photos and memories with others.

In addition to the upcoming beta version of Picasa 3.0 photo-editing software, Google is making some big improvements to the original Picasa. Face recognition is the most notable feature, as well as some advance tagging features. User’s can use "name-tags" together with facial recognition features to better organize photos.
