Mamiya Digital Imaging announces Mamiya ZDb Digital Back
Mamiya Digital Imaging has announced the Mamiya ZDb 22 megapixel Digital Back. The Back is expected to be shown at Photokina 2008 The new Mamiya ZDb features a variety of enhancements over the original ZD Digital Back.
One of the enhancements to the Back is a buffer with “twice the memory of the original ZD Digital Back” which means that users can shoot up to 22 RAW images continuously before the buffer has been filled.
The Mamiya ZD Digital Back is now compatible with SDHC cards (an upgrade over the original) which are currently available in sizes up to 32GB. The back can also store photos on SD, CF I and CF II memory cards.
When used along side the Mamiya 645AFDIII the Back will display the 35 custom controls of the camera on the backs LCD panel. The display makes it faster and easier for users to navigate the cameras settings, and take the best pictures possible.
The Mamiya ZD Digital Back is compatible with the Mamiya 645AFD/II/II, RZ67Pro-SD, RB67Pro-IID cameras. The Back can store pictures in RAW and JPEG formats at a resolution of 5328×4000 pixels, 4096×3072 pixels, and 3008×2256 pixels. JPEG’s can be compressed in fine, normal, and basic. With and ISO sensitivity of 50 to 400, the Back can be white balanced automatically as well as for daylight, shade, tungsten, florescent, and strobe. The Back also has a 48×36mm full-frame transfer CCD, Interchangeable: IR cut filter, low pass filter, and a filter for IR photography.
A new beta version of the Mamiya Remote Capture software will also be downloadable from the Mamiya homepage soon. The software is designed to streamline the process of shooting photos with the Back, making the photo taking process faster and easier.
Pricing and delivery options of the SDb Digital Back are expected to be announced in the fall of 2008.
