Breaking into Stock Photography

Stock photography is quickly becoming a way for photographers on both an amateur and professional level to make some extra cash with their images. While some stock photographers take stock photos exclusively for a living, many others simply upload their pictures to stock sites to make a few extra dollars each month. If you’re interested in trying your hand at stock photography here are a few sites worth trying out.








Pentax has introduced a new digital SLR that we be headed to stores in time for the holiday season. The Pentax K2000 will be geared toward beginning SLR users, be able to take pictures at a 10.2 megapixel resolution, and will come with an included 18-55mm.
At Photokina this year Leica released their new Leica S2 digital SLR. The camera takes a traditional DSLR body and adds a 37.5 megapixel, 30 x 45 mm sensor, which is 56% larger than the full frame, in a packages smaller than your standard SLR.
Hasselblad has started shipping its new 50 megapixel camera. The camera is the first on the market to sport Kodak’s 50 megapixel sensor. The sensor measures 36 x 48mm, twice the size of a largest DSLR sensor currently on the market.
Kodak has announced the new Z1485 to its EasyShare Z-series digital camera lineup. The camera can take photographs at a 14 megapixel resolution, as well as shoot high-definition video at 720p and 30fps.
Canon has introduced its first compact cameras to use its upgraded Digic 4 processor. The processor was previously only available on the companies digital SLR’s, specifically the EOS 50D and 5D Mark II cameras. The four cameras that now use the processor include some of the companies compact Elph line as well as an ultra zoom consumer camera.
Canon has announced an update to its 5D camera. The Canon 5D Mark II will have a 21 megapixel CMOS sensor and be able to record full high definition video at 1920 x 1080 at 30 frames per second.
Mamiya Digital Imaging has announced the Mamiya ZDb 22 megapixel Digital Back. The Back is expected to be shown at Photokina 2008 The new Mamiya ZDb features a variety of enhancements over the original ZD Digital Back.
