The $330 Samsung TL34HD shoots 14.7 megapixel stills and HD video Five years ago a 5 megapixel camera would cost the average consumer at least $500, if not more. Almost as a sign of the times, one of Samsungs cameras, the TL34HD packs a whopping 14.7 megapixels, and 720p HD video recording into its small all-metal body. With a price tag of only $329.95 the digital camera powerhouse is well within the sights of many consumers.

The announcement of the TL34HD came as part of the company’s announcement of its camera lineup for the second half of the year. In addition to the TL34HD, Samsung announced three other new digital cameras this morning, the TL9, SL310W and SL201. Here’s a run down all the new models:

TL34HD

Samsung describes the TL34HD as “the most advanced point-and-shoot digital camera in Samsung’s history.” The camera has a 14.7 megapixel resolution and a Schneider lens with a 28mm wide-angle focal length and 3.6 optical zoom. In addition to high resolution photo, the pocket-sized TL34HD can also record high definition video at a 720p resolution. The TL34HD will have a 3-inch touch-screen LCD and will be available in all0black, or silver with red accents. MSRP $329.95.

TL9

The TL9 can take photos with a resolution up to 10 megapixels. The camera has a 2.7-inch LCD, a 5x optical zoom, a max ISO of 1600 and Dual Image Stabilization. The camera also has MP3, and PMP capabilities. The TL9 uses Samsungs face detection technology to keep photos of individuals in focus, and has blink detection to make sure you catch subjects with their eyes open. MSRP $279.95.

SL310W

The SL310W has a resolution of 13.1 megapixels, another high number for a consumer camera. The camera has a 2.7-inch LCD, Dual Image Stabilization, and a 3.6x, 28mm wide-angle optical zoom lens. The SL310 has 11 scene modes and can record MPEG-4 video. MSRP $229.95.

SL201

The SL201 has a resolution of 10.2 megapixels. The camera has a 2.7-inch LCD that dims and brightens based on your current lighting conditions (so you can always see your LCD). The camera also has a 3x optical zoom, face detection, and Digital Image Stabilization. MSRP $169.95.

All four new digital cameras are expected to start shipping in September, just in time to be available for holiday shoppers come November.
