Make your photos talk with Kyolo

By Emily Price

Make your photos talk with KyoloIt’s often said that a picture can say a thousand words. What if you could literally make your photos talk? Kyolo is a new website designed to let your pictures do the talking by allowing you to add speech bubbles to them.

Unlike adding speech bubbles in Photoshop (which lets face it is pretty cumbersome) adding speech bubbles in Kyolo is fairly simple. All you have to do is upload your picture to the site, and the speech bubble fun can begin!

Kyolo has three different speech bubble options to choose from: a traditional bubble, thought bubble, and a bubble that can be used as a caption. You can add as many bubbles as you want to photos, and you can move the speech bubbles around on your picture by simply dragging and dropping them. Kyolo also gives you the flexibility to change the orientation of your speech bubble and the size of the font you use so you can customize your bubble to the particular photo you’re working with.

The whole process takes less than a minute, and leaves you with a pretty entertaining photo. Your final creation can be instantly emailed to friends and family, downloaded to your computer, or added to your own photo album on Kyolo. The site also has an instant share button for your photos so you can instantly post them on sites like MySpace, and Facebook, or send out a tweet with a link to your picture to your followers on Twitter.

The Kyolo homepage has a “Bubble Gallery” where you can check out some of the photographs created by other users on the site. Current users have used the speech bubbles to add a creative twist to their personal photos, as well as add their own commentary to political photos and the like.

I’ve used the site for a few photos from parties. It’s great to add a little twist to those photos where everyone was caught a little off guard or pictures that need…ummm…need a little more explanation.
