The Nikon Coolpix S600 is a stylish new digital camera designed for photo enthusiasts seeking the pleasure of added sophisticated design in their camera.
Priced at US$299.95, the Coolpix S600 is said to combine swift start-up time, advanced functions and “outstanding photographic performance” into what Nikon claims is the world’s most compact body.
According to Nikon, the S600 boasts ultra-swift response, and maintains image clarity even at sensitivity settings as high as ISO 3200.

Our comment:
The Coolpix S600 is your usual mid-range digital photo snapper that comes with mid-range features. With a combination of great and not so good features, the best way to decide whether to get the S600 is its price. Which in this day and age is not much of a recommendation.

This Nikon S600 camera looks great but it does now have a 28mm wide lens
However a good competitor to the Nikon S600 is the new Ricoh R10 with a 7X optical zoom, 28mm lens, 1 inch in thickness and a 3 inch 460,000 pixel screen.
