Sony Cybershot DSC-T300 “combines function with style”

The Sony Cybershot DSC-T300 is a smart point-and-shoot digital camera designed for photography enthusiast looking for a stylish, ultra-compact design and intelligent functionality.
Priced at US$400 the DSC-T300 incorporates Sony’s new intelligent scene recognition (iSCN) that allows the camera to analyze shooting conditions and automatically select the optimal settings for the best photo results. In iSCN mode, the camera can automatically detect up to five scenes, and choose the best setting for the situation.
According to Sony, the DSC-T300 shows goes beyond face detection to other functions that help customers capture their best photos automaticaly.

- 10.1 Megapixels, 1/ 2.3” Super HAD CCD
- Macro allows photography from 1 cm
- 5x optical zoom
- Focal length 5.8 - 29mm (35mm equivalent 33 - 165 mm)
- 80-3200 ISO (sensitivity)
- 3.5” Clear Photo LCD plus screen (230,000 pixels)

- Dimensions of 94 mm x 59.3 mm x 21.4 mm (W x H x D)
- Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom lens and Sony’s Double Anti-Blur solution, for crisp, clear images. Also available in silver and red.

Our comment:
The Sony DSC-T300 looks promising and a worthy successor to the highly successful Sony DSC-T200. The 3.5” LCD and other innovative features may very well pull this one off for Sony. It would be interesting to see how loyal DSC-T200 would react when the DSC-T300 becomes available in March, 2008. Will they abandon their old DSC-T200 over the newer model, DSC-300? That remains to be seen.
