What users and reviewers are saying:

“In terms of actual improvements over its predecessor, the A200 has only a handful including a maximum sensitivity of 3200 ISO, quicker AF speed, a slightly bigger screen, support for an optional battery grip and the inclusion of an Info Lithium battery pack to deliver accurate feedback on remaining charge.”-Gordon Laing

“The Sony A200 isn’t dramatically different from its predecessor, but its price should make it more competitive with DSLRs such as the $599 Pentax K10D and the $699 Nikon D40x (both include kit lenses)”-Emily Raymund

“The Sony Alpha 200 is a joy to work with and the camera performs really well. So if you can’t wait any longer and you want to get going shooting away, the choice for the Alpha 200 is an excellent one!”-Lets Go Digital

Our comment:

Despite having not too many different features from its predecessor, the A200’s features are still a top-notch for an entry-level DSLR camera. If you haven’t owned a Sony DSLR yet, the A200 could be your best bet. If price is not a consideration, it would be better to get the A200 rather than starting out with the Sony A100.
