Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80 targets first time buyers

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80 makes every user a photographer The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80 is a compact digital still camera designed for entry-level users looking for ease-of-use and convenience.

While a price was not known at the time this articel was written, the DMC-LS80 combines four distinct features aimed at making it easy to capture perfect images.

According to Panasonic, the Lumix DMC-LS80 is an easy-to-use AA-battery compact digital camera with MEGA O.I.S. and Intelligent ISO control featuring Intelligent Mode.

Key features include:

  • 8.1 Megapixels, 1/ 2.5″ CCD, Primary color filter
  • Macro allows photography from 5 cm (wide) and 30 cm (tele)
  • 3x optical zoom
  • Focal length f = 5.5 - 16.5 mm (35 mm Equivalent: 33 - 100 mm)
  • 100-1600 ISO (sensitivity)
  • 2.5″ TFT Display screen (230,000 pixels)
  • 470 shots per Ni-NMH battery charge
  • Takes SD/SDHC, Multi MEDIA
  • 129 grams
  • Dimensions of 95.7 mm x 62.0 mm x 31.2 mm (W x H x D)
  • Mega O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) helps eliminate blurring due to hand-shake, Intelligent ISO Control fights motion blur by detecting if the subject moves and adjusting the ISO sensitivity and shutter speed setting according to the degree of motion and light conditions.

DMC-LS80 further offers a range of features that enhance usability and add convenience. The Intelligent LCD function which comes with the 230,000-dot high resolution monitor, detects lighting condition and controls brightness level of the LCD in 12 fine steps, to offer the display with best appropriate clarity in any situations.

Our comment:

Although just announced quite recently, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS80 is already getting major media hype from digital camera sites. The anticipation is growing stronger as the digital camera industry awaits the release of the DMC-LS80.
