The EX-V8 delivers 8.1 effective megapixels in a slim shape that is compact enough to fit in the palm of the hand. The camera features a 7X optical internal zoom lens designed for quiet operation. The EX-V8 also offers four blur reduction technologies, including a CCD-shift image stabilization mechanism.
What reviewers and users are saying:
“As for its virtues, its mid-range zoom with image stabilization, face recognition system, 10 Movie modes, and 34 Scene modes make the V8 especially tempting for the 7x zoom market.”-Karen Cheung
“Image quality was very good outdoors. If you need to use flash indoors, results weren’t as good, with the weak flash and red-eye showing up way too often. “-Ben Stafford
“The Casio Exilim EX-V8 is a unique camera, packing a 7X zoom lens into a body no larger than your typical Digital ELPH. It has more than its share of flaws, but if you can live with them, it’s a pretty good travel camera. While I’m not jumping up and down about it, I definitely think the EX-V8 is worth a look.”- Jeff Keller
Our comment:
Despite its pretty high price and some minor shortcomings, the Casio Exilim EX-V8 is still a good buy if you are a Casio Exilim fan or if you are looking for a dual-purpose still and video camera. We got to give it to Casio for pioneering the direct to YouTube upload functionality. It’s one good reason to buy the Exilim EX-V8.
