What the manufacturer says:
With the Casio Exilim S880 digital camera switching from snapshots to video mode while on the go becomes effortless.
What punters are saying:
“The S880 can take some good pictures, but it struggles a bit indoors, with shaky white balance and an under-powered flash. Camera usability is good, with quick performance, easy to change shooting settings, and excellent battery life.” - Ben Stafford
” The Casio Exilim EX-S880 tries to slide by as an upgraded S770 with a higher resolution and a different image processor. Unfortunately, it doesn’t meet the standards set by its predecessor. While a new image processor usually means faster performance, the S800 performs slower and photos are terribly soft compared to the older camera.”- CNET Editor
“the EX-S880 is both good-looking and functional. The metal case is attractive yet durable, but the standout feature is the dedicated video record button, and what it means for the interface. By having only one shooting mode but two separate buttons for video and still photos, Casio has churned out the most convenient camera for shooting both stills and videos that we’ve tested.”- Matthew Ruiz
Our comment:
The EX-S880 garnered mixed reviews from camera experts who understandably would be looking for the camera’s finest feature in terms of producing high-quality photos. However, some maybe missing the point that the camera is being marketed also as a point-and-shoot video camera. Hence the integrated YouTube video upload feature. For its affordable price of $240, the EX-S880 is definitely worth the price you have to pay for it.
