It’s a 5 Megapixel camera, it’s a phone, it’s both, thanks to Samsung

By Jonathan Schlaffer

phone Samsung has introduced its newest phone, the G800 which is claimed to be the world’s first mobile phone with a 5 Megapixel digital camera.

The camera portion of the phone also includes a 3x optical zoom, video capture capabilities with face detection, xenon flash, wide dynamic range and video editing functions right on the phone itself.  It also includes macro, multi and panoramic modes.

It has a 2.4-inch QVGA display and has support for the latest 3G technology.  The fun doesn’t end there, Samsung designed on new user interface for the phone and included a mobile blogging feature that allows users to upload content to most social networking sites.

According to M&C, the G800 is set to arrive in Europe this November but US availability is unlikely, though a variant of the phone could make an appearance, I would not hold my breath.
