$40,000 camera touts 39 megapixels
September 20, 2007
Those of you that have a digital SLR camera might think you have something to be proud of, but, whatever model it is you have, it has nothing on the new Hasselblad H3D with a choice of either a 22, 31 or 39 megapixel image sensor.
Not only do the image sensors have lots of pixels but they are also huge measuring 48mm x 36mm which are the largest sensors in the industry, to date.
The 39 megapixel model captures images at a size of 5412 x 7212 pixels and easily uses 110MB per image captured. Prices range between $25,000 and $40,000 which also nets you a 3″ LCD display and hopefully the lens as well.
Professionals only, please, and no, it won’t fit in your coat pocket.
